A finished garage floor may look simple from above, but its long-term performance depends heavily on what happens where the coating meets the concrete. For homeowners, this means a bubble or loose section of coating does not always tell the entire story. The visible defect may be the final symptom of moisture pressure or another condition beneath the surface.

Moisture problems can also vary from one property to another. Slab construction, drainage, vapor protection, surrounding soil, and environmental conditions can influence what happens below the floor.

A professional assessment helps determine whether the concrete shows warning signs that should be addressed before installation. Covering a questionable slab without considering these conditions can allow a hidden problem to become a visible one later.
